Bring the experience to you with our virtual tours

When travel just isn’t an option, there is a way to learn about our history, discover the stories of our ancestors, and experience new places, traditions, and cultures.

Dorosh Heritage Tours offers our services virtually for anyone who is unable to travel in person but wants to see their ancestral village and authentic Ukrainian culture and traditions. If you have a parent or grandparent who is curious about their heritage, this is a perfect way to give the gift of family history.

The starting point is knowing the village where your ancestors lived. If you don’t know that yet, we can help you find out through our Genealogy Research.

Ancestral villages often don’t appear on Google maps, so it’s hard to see them from a distance. In our virtual tours, we visit the village for you and take professional photos or videos to capture what it looks like, from the sign at the entrance to the village through to the local shops and residents, landscape, landmarks, and nature. We also include any historical photos of the village that we can find to provide added context of what life looked like for your ancestors.

Let me show you how we do it

Each virtual tour results in a digital Photo Album of high-quality photos with descriptive captions or a Virtual Tour Video with narration or captions in English. The goal is to make it feel like you’re walking through your ancestral town, seeing it with your own eyes, learn about its past and present. This is an especially incredible experience when we find ancestral houses, burials or discover living relatives and interview them so that you can listen to the family stories.

This is the video we shoot when doing one of the recent Virtual Tours in Ukraine. Send us a message to customize your Virtual Tour.

I can hardly put to words how overjoyed I am with the research Andriy, Svitlana and their team did in finding information on my Grandmothers family line. Very thorough research and I'd like to extend a special thank you to Svitlana for patiently and cheerfully answering all my dumb questions during the process! In my experience, Dorosh Heritage Tours is unmatched in their service and their pricing is very transparent and reasonable. I am so excited for the next project which will be a video tour of my grandparents villages in May/June! Shelley

Hello, my name is Carol Cherich. My paternal grandmother, Ewa Kit was born in Ukraine in 1894 and migrated to USA in 1913 and never returned to her homeland. Between 1920'a until the Berlin wall went up, she had contact with relatives, but then lost contact during the Soviet oppression and died in 1980 so there was no longer any family contact. Finally in 2023, after many years of doing research, I came across Dorosh genealogy services and was able to find my grandmothers relatives in Ukraine who have been living in the same community for over 100 years. I was also able to receive primary documentation on my ancestors, baptisms, marriages, children and a local family cemetery. I also requested a video of my ancestor's homeland and interview Ivan, a second cousin. On 3/2/2024, one day before my birthday, I received a 45-minute video of one of my relatives, Ivan, a second cousin who showed me pictures of the family, gave us a tour of the home he now lived in as well as the home my grandmother grew up in next door, a tour of the local community and family cemetery. My cousin Ivan has a sister (Iryna) who has 2 sons, one in LVIV, and another son lives in Florida. Within 36 hours, the son in LVIV, Andrii reached out to me via Facebook and email and connected me to his brother in Florida. Both sons connected me to their mother, Iryna who now lives in Barcelona Spain. Iryna will be visiting Florida, and I will go there to finally meet her, the son and his children. I am truly grateful for the time Andrii and his wife helped me with the genealogy research and best of all was the video to see live my relatives so far away from Tennessee. My grandmother must be smiling above to know our family has come full circle. This has been a real blessing. Sincerely, Carol Cherich,

Eight of us travelled in a comfortable, new minibus around Ukraine for 26 days from Kyiv to Lviv in August -September 2019. The sun shone and the sunflowers filled the fields. What a memorable holiday! In Kyiv we walked beside the Dnipro River, saw some magnificent churches, the catacombs and parks. We ambled down some boulevards and ate delicious Ukrainian food like Mama used to make. Sometimes even pizza when we wanted a quick lunch! Watched the Independence Day march and mingled with the happy crowds in the Maidan. We travelled to Odessa, Vinnytsia, Kamyanets Podilskyi, Kolomyia with the big pysanka, Karpaty villages, Ivano Frankivsk and then, the beautiful city of Lviv. Everywhere the greenness of the country will surprise you. Saw an opera, visited a school, shopped at malls for modern fashions as well as in village markets where we found some Ukrainian crafts at bargain prices! The hotels were excellent and air-conditioned. All the comforts of home. The guides spoke English as well as Ukrainian! They were very informative and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We had a lot of laughs with them and the drivers were very helpful with our luggage. If I can I will go again. Thank you Dorosh Heritage Tours!!
