Bring the experience to you with our virtual tours

When travel just isn’t an option, there is a way to learn about our history, discover the stories of our ancestors, and experience new places, traditions, and cultures.

Dorosh Heritage Tours offers our services virtually for anyone who is unable to travel in person but wants to see their ancestral village and authentic Ukrainian culture and traditions. If you have a parent or grandparent who is curious about their heritage, this is a perfect way to give the gift of family history.

The starting point is knowing the village where your ancestors lived. If you don’t know that yet, we can help you find out through our Genealogy Research.

Ancestral villages often don’t appear on Google maps, so it’s hard to see them from a distance. In our virtual tours, we visit the village for you and take professional photos and short videos to capture what it looks like, from the sign at the entrance to the village through to the local shops and residents, landscape, landmarks, and nature. We also include any historical photos of the village that we can find to provide added context of what life looked like for your ancestors.

Digital Family Album

High-quality photos and short videos

Each virtual tour results in a digital family album of high-quality photos and short videos, each with a descriptive caption. The goal is to make it feel like you’re walking through your ancestral town, seeing it with your own eyes, learn about its past and present. This is an especially incredible experience when we discover living relatives and interview them so that you can see who they are and hear their stories.

When it’s ready, you’ll receive your family photo album through a link that can easily be shared with your loved ones.

The Virtual Tour paired with Genealogy Research is a great way to preserve your family heritage and pass it on to future generations.

I have been trying to research my grandfathers side of the family for many years with very little progress. This is until I contacted Andriy and his team, within the space of weeks I found out more than I found in many years of searching. We met Andriy Dorosh in 2013 through a trip advisor review on a Ukraine forum. What a wonderful find that was! When we visited Lviv that fall , he arranged a guide to escort us to Bavoriv looking for my husbands maternal grandfather’s family. Without any prior research or knowledge we amazingly managed to find family nearby in Grabovets. Andriy had impressed us with his friendliness , professionalism and enthusiasm . Since then I have followed him on FB in hopes of returning to Ukraine and touring with him. This summer when Andriy posted about doing virtual tours due to the pandemic, I had the idea to look for my husbands maternal grandmother as a surprise 70th birthday gift. Andriy’s professional researcher, Olga , did an amazing job researching 270 people from 80 families to potentially locate living relatives. Andriy and his team visited Grabovets and Bavoriv filming the surrounding landscape and ancestral villages. With the use of an old map that Olga had researched, they located the ancestral plot of the family. Then miraculously, they even located 6 living relatives there and interviewed some of them. One cousin cried “she had been waiting for her family to find her”. Andriy presented us with the most beautiful and emotional video of his visit there. Now we have even made contact with some of the family through Facebook and video chat! Truly amazing experience all thanks to the interest and perseverance of Andriy and his team at Dorosh Heritage tours. We will be forever grateful and now Andriy is a part of our family story. We will definitely plan to return in 2022 to travel and visit our family with Andriy. We so highly recommend he and his team for one of the most memorable experiences in our lives. If you have potentially lost family in Ukraine, look for them it is so worth it!

I have had the most professional and exciting experience with Dorosh Tours. I wanted to research my maternal line in Ukraine. I didn't have much information to go on and thought it would be very difficult and maybe impossible to learn about this side of my family. Dorosh /Olia really left no stone unturned and I was so happy with my research reports they provided. I now have names, dates and places to fill in all previous empty blanks in my family tree. I found the whole experience wonderful, even the price. I highly recommend their services. Wendy
